Michele Wymer joined the Kyle House Group in 2011 after a decade of service in the United States Senate. Michele provides strategic planning, public policy guidance and network building to her clients on a range of international development, budget and appropriations issues. She has successfully represented a number of non-profits, foundations and corporations, serving as an advocate for their interests with Congress and federal agencies. With extensive experience navigating the channels of bilateral and multilateral assistance, Michele also offers broad strategic analysis to clients implementing innovative donor-based funding models around the world.

As a veteran senior staff member on the State and Foreign Operations Subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Michele spent a decade on Capitol Hill driving complex foreign assistance policy agendas. Michele traveled overseas extensively conducting oversight of U.S. foreign assistance programs in more than 60 countries and provided policy guidance to Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and former Senator Judd Gregg of New Hampshire in their roles as subcommittee Ranking Member.

Charged with authoring annual legislation that determined operational and programming funding levels for the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Michele’s subcommittee oversaw all independent international agencies and commissions. With the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Peace Corps, USIP, Broadcasting Board of Governors and a host of others in her portfolio, Michele offers clients unique insight regarding the vast landscape of U.S. foreign policy and international assistance.

In addition to working closely with senior U.S. Government officials at State, USAID, DoD, Treasury, NSC, and various agencies, Michele has worked extensively with outside interest groups including NGOs, foundations, academic institutions, and corporations, as well as with senior foreign government officials and their ambassadors to the United States.

Prior to serving on the Appropriations Committee, Michele served on the staff of U.S. Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi as a policy advisor on Homeland Security, Judiciary, Foreign Relations and Veterans issues.

Michele holds a master’s degree in International Policy from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree of Spanish and Public Relations from Mississippi State University. Michele serves on the Board of Directors for the Special Olympics of Northern California and Water4. She and her husband, Steve, and their four young children, live in San Jose, CA.
