Partnership Development

KHG partners with senior leaders from across the public and private sectors as they strive to create global partnerships, transform their social responsibility platforms and implement bold and innovative programs for international development. We facilitate collaboration at the highest levels of government, business, and the non-profit, academic and faith communities. KHG has managed several projects that leverage diverse stakeholder involvement to better harness the full social and economic benefits from public-private partnerships.
 
KHG has facilitated the development of effective new corporate partnerships with donor agencies, multilateral institutions, foundations and NGOs.  For example, we have assisted our clients in developing new partnerships and co-investment strategies with USAID, UNDP, DFID, the Green Climate Fund, and a host of other international development agencies, foundations and NGOs.

Policy

The KHG team possesses decades of hands-on experience within and outside of government on a range of public policy and commercial issues. The team works with our clients to analyze policy developments in the United States and abroad to help them better understand the implications of these policies to their operations and missions, and to shape the development of these policies. 
 
We specialize in a wide-range of policy issue areas, including: International Development and Global Health; International Trade and Investment; Energy and Environment; Global Supply Chains and Customs; International Regulatory and Business Issues; Defense and National Security; Homeland Security; and Domestic Health.

Advocacy

Federal Government Advocacy:  KHG advocates for our clients’ public policy agendas before the U.S. Congress and the Executive branch through direct lobbying activities and engagement.  KHG works to positively shape legislation, government policies and regulations through education, relationship building and advocacy efforts. KHG also possesses significant experience successfully helping clients navigate government contracting processes across the interagency of departments and agencies.
 
Our experienced and talented team of government affairs professionals advises our clients on how best to navigate and understand the ever-changing political and policy dynamics at the federal, state and local levels.  The KHG team works diligently and creatively to best position our clients to achieve their public policy and business objectives.
 
Grassroots and Grasstops Advocacy: KHG develops and manages networks of influential constituent organizations and individuals to advance client interests before elected officials. We have a successful track record of building and leveraging grassroots and grasstops networks in support of client advocacy campaigns.
 
Over the last fifteen years, we have developed a high-level, national network of trusted relationships with key grasstops leaders from various constituent communities.  In approximately two-dozen targeted cities and states, we have developed close relationships with leaders in the state and local governments, the faith community, the business and academic communities, within leading non-profits and foundations, as well as other foreign policy thought leaders.
 
International Advocacy: KHG also represents clients before senior foreign government officials in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia. KHG engages extensively with the leaders of international organizations such as the European Commission, World Bank Group, World Trade Organization, multilateral development banks, NATO, the United Nations and others. KHG develops strategic outreach and advocacy plans for businesses and organizations seeking solutions in foreign markets.

Convening and Event & Coalition Management

KHG regularly plans and executes client events in and outside of Washington, DC, including conferences, board meetings, retreats, Washington fly-ins, and other activities.  KHG has managed corporate client participation at high level events, such as the World Economic Forum (and the regional forums), the UN General Assembly Meetings, the G8 and G20, the recent Africa Leaders Summit, etc.  KHG also regularly plans and executes high-level public and private events with our corporate clients with targeted audiences to help develop new partnerships and consensus around priority client issues.

The KHG team has planned and managed a number of domestic and international trips for clients. These trips have included fact-finding trips to the field, the hosting of congressional delegations overseas, visits to U.S. military bases and combatant commands, and meetings with Members of Congress, governors, mayors and other elected officials in their home constituencies.

Coalition Development and Management: We have assisted a number of foundations, NGOs and corporations in developing broad-based coalitions around priority issues, drawing from our network in the business community, global development community, foreign governments, and multilateral organizations. KHG’s team members have significant experience building and managing coalitions on a variety of policy issues, and our coalition services include campaign-driven coalition development, lobbying, messaging, and day-to-day coalition management.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Our firm represents and advises a number of leading multinational companies on their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. We have developed and supported a number of large-scale CSR projects for Fortune 500 companies within the extractive, apparel, pharmaceutical, technology and manufacturing sectors.
 
We have worked with several of our corporate clients to develop innovative finance mechanisms in partnership with donor agencies such as USAID and the World Bank. For example, our team worked with our network of partners to assist with the creation of two credit facilities totaling $70 million to support factory remediation efforts to improve building safety in Bangladesh on behalf of a coalition of U.S. apparel and retail organizations.
